42nd EITI Board Meeting schedule

42nd EITI Board Meeting will start from a high point and will address good governance and open data issues. Shedding some light on Meeting critical agenda, we are glad to present roundtable discussion programs.

Round table discussion “Beneficial ownership: best practices in opening important information for good governance in extractive sector” will be held on February 26th at time 16:00 – 18:00 at the Hyatt hotel.

Round table discussion “Beneficial ownership: best practices in opening important information for good governance in extractive sector” program

The goal of the event is to discuss best practices in opening important information for good governance in the extractive sector, make it accessible and useful for the wider audience. In particular, how beneficial ownership information can increase accountability in the sector and build trust among stakeholders.

Within “EITI systematic disclosure: how to use the best practices” you will join the diverse set of high-level experts outlining how to orient government systems towards open data by default. It will be held on February 26th at 16:00 – 18:00 at the Hyatt hotel.

Round table “EITI systematic disclosure: how to use the best practices” program

The purpose of the event is to share experience in EITI data systematic disclosure through best practices in different EITI countries. The event will cover such topics as how to make EITI data accessible to the public, how to read EITI data and “translate” it to local communities, how systematically disclosed data could improve communication among stakeholders. Speakers will discuss these questions, to help participants to build their vision for EITI systematic disclosure.

Roundtable discussion “How to ensure good governance of state-owned enterprises” will cover the keynote speeches outlining best practices and challenges in managing SOEs and building an attractive investment climate. It will be held on February 27th from 5 pm till 7 pm at the Hyatt hotel.

Round table “How to ensure good governance of state-owned enterprises” program

The objective of this session is to discuss necessary actions needed from government to establish well-operated state-owned enterprises (SOE) in the extractive sector. Participants will further discuss recommendations for effective
governance of SOEs.
